Beer and T Shirt Party

Published by Tom under Ramblings, Uncategorized

I was reading an article on the news about Beer Garden Party now being allowed for Halloween in Athens, OH. It is an open air beer party. This brought back memories from my younger years.

When I was around twenty, a local frat house had a wild Halloween beer party for all the college kids and their friends. It was a blast. They had a wet t shirt contest and the top three winners got to give away their t shirt brand to some lucky guys.

All of the t shirts were donated from the local beer house. The top winner gave away four Captain Morgan t shirts. The catch was, the guys who won the t shirts had to do shots of whatever brand was on the shirt. I wanted to do shots of Captain Morgan rum but I ended up in the group that won Miller Lite t shirts. It was cool and I got wasted. That was the days when drinking was fun and no one got carried away.

The only problem we had was a few guys who won the Jack Daniels t shirts got really drunk and puked all over the dean’s car. That was a mess and some of my frat friends got in trouble for it. Luckily the dean was cool and all he did was made them wash and wax his car.

Those were the days when as long as you kept the parties under control, nobody gave you any trouble. I remember quite a few wild beer parties from back in those days. I am not sure why that news story brought all the memories back but I am glad to share my story with you.

Happy Halloween and bottoms up!

Just a Few days Till the Election

Published by Tom under Uncategorized

We are getting close to the election. It is time for all Americans to up their voice and vote for something besides just following a certain party. Look up who voted for what and who is voting for things that follow your views. I have never met anyone who agreed 100% with a party yet they vote that way anyway. It is time to look at the person not the party.

Our future and our children’s future has been given away by bailing out businesses and banks who did a crappy job. They could not or chose not to manage with any common sense. Because of this, they should have been allowed to fail. No one is bailing us out! If we make bad choices, we have to deal with them. It is time to vote for candidates who agree with the people they are paid to represent.

Do not waste your vote on which ever candidate is the best talking. Don;t vote for the incumbent because he has always been there and why change. Don;t vote for a pretty face or false promises. We will all be taxed higher! This is a fact. The way the government has ran the budgets has caused such a debt that there is no choice but to raise taxes on everyone.

Think clearly and vote for who you think will represent you and your family. From President all the way down to your town council, do your research and vote for the best thing for YOU!

Have you made up your mind yet? Please share your opinions by leaving a comment or two.

World of Warcraft Accounts Site

Published by Tom under Gaming, Websites Reviews

The following is a sponsored review:

Have you ever heard of World of Warcraft (WOW)? If you haven’t, you are missing out because it is one of the hottest MMORPG Online games around. This game is so popular that many sites have popped up to catch the wave. One such site that is sweeping through the gaming world is Buy MMO Accounts. I recently checked out their website and it was interesting.

First thing I noticed was the unique design and layout. This site screams gaming with characters sprayed all over the pages. It is bright and attractive to the eye. For any serious gamer, this site will attract you as soon as you open the page. The site is also an ease to navigate and one can find what they need from just a few clicks.

This website specializes in selling and buying WOW character accounts. They have an easy to fill out quote form for those wishing to sell their accounts and they offer several levels of accounts for purchase. From the Horde Druid all the way up to the Elite Hordes, this site offers multiple levels and characters to get you into the action of the game.

There were a few unique things I discovered on this site. They own all the accounts they sell. They are not a broker and the accounts are not up for auction. The price you see is the price you pay. They also offer a toll free telephone number for support. This is in addition to their email and live chat support. I have never seen a WOW account retailer that offered a live phone support.

They not only offer excellent support, they also back up what they sell with a 100% lifetime guarantee. This protects you from having a faulty account that you can not use.

I found this site quite unique and a gamers dream when it comes to buying and selling WOW accounts. I suggest if you are trying to sell your account or wanting to buy a new account, you should check out this site first for your account needs.

Home Security Systems

Published by Tom under Websites Reviews

Remember the days you could leave your doors unlocked all the time? Well that was years ago and now you not only need to lock your doors, you also need to think of installing a one of the Home Security Systems.

I visited the Home Security Store Online and checked into what it would cost to create some Home Security for my family. They are a suppliers of many security products from full alarm kits down to a simple surveillance camera. This is the catch all store for both home and personal protection. You can even order pepper spray.

I had thought of paying for a big name company to come in and install a home alarm system. However, I decided, I could save a lot by shopping on the Internet and doing it myself. That is when I found the Home Security Store.

They offer great prices, free shipping over $100 and tons of brand names. If you are like me, you may have questions on how to install their Security Systems. These type of questions are easily answered with their full support tech line. You can reach them by email or by telephone.

This company website is easy to access and offers all the needs for you and your family when it comes to personal security. I have provided links for you to compare their prices. You owe it to your family to provide a safe environment for them to live.

Alternative Heath Care

Published by Tom under Health

I hate to take any kind of traditional medicine. People often take stuff for years only to find out that it was basically poison and causes other health issue. How many times do you turn on the TV and see class action law suits or recalls on medicine that was the prescribed for years? I see them all the time.

I try my best to find alternative medicines to treat all kinds of health issues. One that I swear by is Oregano Oil. I have found many illnesses that it treats and I have not had a full blown cold since I started taking it. Another item I love is Host Defense. However, it is quite expensive so I do not use it right now. There are tons of folk remedies that are out there that work. I am interested in finding some of them that are proven by real people like you and I.

If you have any remedy for anything and you have used it and it works, please leave a comment and share you remedy. With the flu and cold season about to take full bloom, this will be a great help for everyone.

Thanks for be a reader of my blog and your comments are what keeps me writing so please drop me a few!

DEBT Reduction Step Two

Published by Tom under Uncategorized

We paid off our last credit card with a $1000 payment and now we owe no credit card companies. I took another step in reducing my monthly bills by calling my satellite provider and negotiated a $10 reduction for a year. They gave it to me since I have been with them a long time and have always paid my bill on time for over 14 years.

I am still working to get my income up by finding a better job. However, I am slowly working to reduce my out going. I would have totally wiped out my satellite except my 80 year old mother lives with us and she hardly gets out so this is her one vice.

I have also sold off a website to bring in a little money. Slowly but surely I am starting to build funds to whittle away the student loans to become debt free. If anyone has any other good ideas, please feel free to share.

Dave Ramsey Emails

Published by Tom under Uncategorized

I am glad to see that Dave Ramsey really does try to include all emails on his show. My wife sent an email a few nights ago and we assumed that it did not make it on the show that night so it would just get pushed aside. To my surprise, I was watching his show tonight on the Fox Business Network and at the end of his show, he read my wife’s email.

Karen was so excited but missed the show so now she is staying up till one in the morning so she can see the show. She is quite goofy that away. Dave has such common sense and approaches it in such a folksy down to earth way that he appeals to many and pisses off some too. I am just glad he was able to inspire Karen to jump on board the get out of debt wagon!

If you have not seen or heard of Dave Ramsey, I suggest you check out his website to see what he is all about. Better yet, tune into his radio or TV show to see him for yourself.

Debt Reduction Step One

Published by Tom under Debt, Family

I have taken a big step in reducing my debt. I have looked over my expenses and chopped off a few I do not need. First to go was Netflix. I enjoyed the ease of having DVDs shipped to the house but we were not watching them very quickly. It was almost a crunch trying to find time to watch them. That reduction was $9.69 a month.

The next expense I worked on was that dreaded telephone bill. I reduced my Verizon Freedom package which was $49.99 a month to a regional package which cost $35 a month. We maybe make 100 minutes of long distance calls a month so I went with a long distance plan which cost 2.9 cents a minute. This is a reduction of around $14 a month.

These minor amounts may not seem like much but it adds up. You figure $23.96 a month adds up to $287.52 a year. That is an extra payment on our debt.

Now to the big things. We started the beginning of the month with a credit card balance of $4900. We took some from our saving and crimped for the rest and as of Friday the one and only credit card will be history. If I can find a reliable full time job, we should be able to crush and pay off our $49,000 student loans off in two years. This will take some sacrifice but in the long haul, we will be DEBT FREE except for the house! The home equity (we have no other mortgage) will be paid off in another year if all goes as planned.

For the first time, Karen is totally on board and as excited as I am to get all debt gone. I could not imagine how it will feel to owe no one. Of course, once that happens, we plan to buy a new house but not till we save enough to have a emergency plan in place and have a nice down payment.

Anybody else debt free or working hard on? Share your story by leaving a comment here!

Job Searching

Published by Tom under Uncategorized

As you have read from my previous post, we have embarked on a massive debt pay off as quick as possible. This can only be accomplished by increasing our income. I am on a job search to find the right job with a descent income. This is not easy in my area because it is a small lower income area.

I have sent out some resumes but I am not getting many positive results. One company did a phone screening and said I would be moved to the next step and I never heard from them again. Another job was very hopeful but the funding for the position was cut. I am currently working but my hours are up and down and I need a steady income.

I have been supplementing my income with blogging and writing jobs but they too are up and down. I guess with the uncertainty of the economy many companies are putting a freeze on new hires. I will keep plugging away and hopefully be able to pay off our debt with in a reasonable time frame.

How is things going for your family?
