Love of Reading

Published by Tom under Inspiration, Pets, Politics, Religion

Owning a blog is fun and it allows me to share my views and opinions with others and interact with others. However, to be a successful blogger to have to have a love for reading. I spend tons of timing reading all kinds of things both on the Internet and off.

As you have read on my blog, my topics vary quite a bit. I really enjoy keeping up with the latest political news. This not only allows me to learn what is happening in the world, it allows me to find topics to share with my readers. I spend at least an hour a day reading various blogs to see what others are thinking in terms of today’s political problems.

Another topic of great interest to me is religion. I am not a religious person but I do like to learn and read about the various religions. I spend time searching for great religion related article resources to find out as much as I can about all the worlds religions. I feel that by understanding the religions of others, you can understand why people do what they do.

Because reading involves knowledge, I vary my reading to include many other topics. I enjoy reading pets articles since I am an avid pet owner. As you all know, I raise chickens and I have a beautiful German Shepard. My other interest is mostly finance and investing type articles which help me make the right decisions when it comes to my money.

No matter what your interest are, if you are a blogger, you have to have a love for reading and you have to express that love to your readers. It is also important to instill the love of reading onto your children and the younger generation. It is a great time to just find some cool stuff to read about. As you read, you will find that you are gaining more knowledge and it will expand your whole world.

Chicken Banties Be Gone

Published by Tom under Raising Chickens

We decided that the banties were more work than their value. They were cute and fun to watch but with winter coming, it was hard to find a warm place to keep them. The big chickens stay nice and warm in their chicken house but I had a separate area for the banties in the big barn. This area was getting too cold and I decided to give the four banties away. My neighbor said she wanted them so I took them over after dark.

The only reason I got them in the first place was because Karen thought they were so cute and her cousin hatched some out so Karen wanted them. Of course, I was the one having to take care of them. My big ones are easy because I have one huge water container and I can just run hot water over it and thaw it everyday after it freezes. It was a pain to have to do that and then have to thaw the little water container for the banties.

Though they were cute, I will not miss them because I prefer my big chickens much more.

Goodbye banties, hope you like your new home!

Do you raise any farm animals?

Bail Out Bill Reply

Published by Tom under Politics

I have stated over and over my objections to the original Bail Out Bill. It was passed on and voted for by all my so-called representatives in Congress. I write a strongly written objection Charles Schumer, Hillary Clinton, and John McHugh and we see where the Bail Out ended up.

I received a reply from Hillary a while ago with a bullshit response and here is what I received today from Charles Schumer.

Thank you for writing and sharing your thoughts about America’s financial crisis. I agree with you that giving the Secretary of the Treasury authority over a $700 billion dollar fund to stabilize the financial system, without any checks on his authority, or oversight of his actions, would have been a grave mistake. However, the severity of this economic crisis forced the Congress to act in order to save Main Street from further financial pain. If we had not acted when we did, small businesses trying to fill orders and meet payroll, students looking to pay for college, consumers looking to buy cars and so many others would have faced even greater economic hardships, which would have been disastrous for household wealth and jobs in our country.

That is why I made the difficult decision to support the administration’s rescue plan after insisting on changes to the program to ensure that taxpayers will share in the rewards of recovery, that executives of these mismanaged financial institutions would not be enriched with taxpayer money, and that there would be effective oversight of the program. When the economy recovers, taxpayers should be able to recoup most, or all, of this money because the federal government will earn a return from any investments it makes in banks needing assistance. To hold the banks’ executives accountable, the bill requires that all companies that benefit from government assistance limit how much they pay their top employees and, in many cases, eliminate golden parachutes entirely. And to guarantee effective oversight of the rescue program, major oversight mechanisms were written into the legislation, including the creation of a new Inspector General and Congressional oversight panel.

Finally, we forced the Administration to add protections for homeowners into the bill that address the eye of the financial storm – the foreclosure crisis. Of course, this is only one part of a comprehensive solution needed to get our economy back on the right track. Congress stands ready to deliver a broad-based economic stimulus package to invest in Main Street, create new high-paying jobs, and keep the engine of our economy going.

Again, thank you for contacting me on this important issue. Please do not hesitate to contact me again if I can be of further assistance on this, or any other matter.

Sincerely,

Charles E. Schumer
United States Senator

Yes Charlie, that worked out great! We taxpayers are in such better shape now after the Bail Out. I respond publicly by stating, if it is up to me “Your Fired!”
