			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When we talk about health, we think of weight, heart, skin, lungs, and other vital organs. What we fail to think about is our eyes. These are so important to overall health but seldom do we think about taking care of them. Eye injuries occur because we fail to protect our eyes.</p>
<p>There are many ways to improve your eyesight and protect your eyes from harm. If you spend a lot of time outdoors, be sure to wear sunglasses. I am not talking about the cheap dollar store kind. If you wear glasses, get a prescription pair, if not make sure you have a high enough UV rating to protect your eyes.</p>
<p>If you work around tools, mow the yard, weed whack, or other type of activities, make sure you wear some kind of safety glasses. One object flying up can cause a lifetime of eye problems that could be easily prevented. If you smoke, you cause damage to your eyes everyday. There are so many reasons to quit smoking but eye damage ranks right up there.</p>
<p>Doing anything that strains the eyes for too long could damage your eyes. Computer work can cause problems if you do not take breaks from looking g at the screen. Looking away for just a few minutes at a distance every 20-30 minutes will help prevent eye strain and could save you from eye glasses or upping your need for more powerful glasses.</p>
<p>Preventing problems included feeding your eyes. Eating a diet with lots of omega 3s such as fish, nuts, and flax along with green leafy vegetables and citrus fruits will give you the nutrition needed to keep your eyes healthy. Side benefit is these things also keep your whole body healthy.</p>
<p>The final thing to remember when keeping your eyes healthy is a regular visit to the eye doctor.<a href="http://www.opticaleyeworks.ca/" target="_blank"> Optical Eyeworks</a> and many other high quality low cost solution exist to make it both convenient and affordable to keep your eyes in the best shape possible. Be sure to have your eyes checked every two years and sooner if your experience any eye problems.</p>
<p>Your eyes are very important and once your lose your eyesight, you will not get it back. Take care of them so you can see everything the world has to offer.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I am still plugging away at my weight loss. Walking has now become my favorite form of exercise and I try to do at least five miles a day at least five days a week. I am still using my <a href="http://blozzz.com/fitbit-ultra-honest-review/" target="_blank">FitBit</a> and tracking my calories in and out and how many steps I do each day. I am trying to burn 3000 calories and eating 2000 calories a day. This should give me an average loss of two pounds of fat a week. So you are wondering, how well am I doing?</p>
<p>I have loss 33.5 five pounds since the beginning of January. It may be a little more but I did not weigh the first day I started. That is about 18 weeks which comes out to 1.86 pounds a weeks. This is a good safe weight loss and I am feeling good.</p>
<p>Here are the goods and not so goods. I was eating extremely clean when I first started. This is not easy and I have started to slip a little. I am not sure it is possible for me to always eat clean but I try to eat great as much as possible. I do eat pizza but only if I fit in my calories. I do eat McDonald&#8217;s once in a while but I eat a happy meal which now included a reduced size fry and apples. I do drink my sweet teas but I use a higher reduced mix of sweet to unsweetened tea. These do not seem to affect me as much as when I use to eat all crap. It makes it easier to keep up with a reduce eating plan without getting bored.</p>
<p>Reality is, most of us are fat due to the fact that we eat bad. It was easy short term to shut off all the bad. If I stayed that clean, I would have fell off the wagon. Instead, I eat good most of the time, I eat a really bad cheat meal once a week, and I eat smaller portions of things I want as long as they are with in my calorie range and I eat good the rest of the day. This has kept me and my wife on our eating plan. This combined with exercise has allowed Karen and I both to lose over 30 pounds and we are still losing each week.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It sucks to get old. As men, our chances of illness and diseases increase with age. There are so many changes in our bodies that lower our defenses.  One of these big problems comes in the form of Prostate Cancer. This affects hundreds of thousands of men each year. The chances increase as you age. The American Cancer Society reccomends all men start discussing PSA blood test and rectal exams at the age of 50. If prostate cancer runs in the family, it is recommended  early.</p>
<p>It is always a hassle to be tested but early detection can save your life. The earlier you detect the cancer, the easier it is to treat. If you prefer not to have a rectal examine, opt for the blood test and if the PSA levels are suggest you might have prostate cancer, you can proceed from there.</p>
<p>Early detection can open a world of less evasive procedures to rid your body of cancer before it takes hold. One of those treatments is High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound or <a href="http://www.urologyweb.com/urology/mens-health/prostate-cancer.html" target="_blank">HIFU</a>. This is a procedure that attacks the damaged tissue in the prostate. This is done by heating the tissue by uses Ultrasound waves to heat and destroy the damages and diseased area.   It is much less invasive than surgery and has a very high success rate in the research done so far.</p>
<p>This procedure highly reduces the side effects common with many other prostate cancer treatments and is an outpatient procedure that normally takes less than three hours. For the treatment to be effective, the cancer must be localized and often must be caught early. The ultrasound is sent through a rectal probe and heats the area of the prostate from 60 to 80 degrees Celsius. This destroys the damages tissues with reaching a boiling temperature.</p>
<p>There are many methods to treat prostate cancer but many of them involve surgery and radiation which causes many side effects. HIFU seems to be a great alternative with much less negative problems. This could be to prostate cancer what Laparoscopic has done for many surgeries like gall bladder. If you suffer from early onset of prostate cancer, be sure to discuss the possibility of HIFU with your doctor.</p>

<p>I have been keeping track of my “bathing suit” diet this year on-line using my<a href="http://www.clear-internet.com/">Clear Internet</a> connection. I found this great website that was suggested by Self Magazine that for a small fee would help you come up with a free weight program, help you track your weight, and also help you track your measurements and what you ate. This is exactly what I needed to be more motivated to get healthy. I have never been good at sticking to an exercise plan and Lord knows that if I see a <a href="http://www.marthastewart.com/274378/cookies-cookies-cookies">cookie</a> in the kitchen, I just can’t forget about it. Having this website e-mail you your daily work out plan is really helpful. It mixes up your weight and cardio routines so that you don’t get totally bored when you are working out. I have really enjoyed the different free weight routines because I really like to feel like I have long and lean muscle. The other thing that is good is that I can keep track of what I do and eat by recording it in a journal. It holds me more personally accountable and I get a better idea of my real exercise and eating habits. So far I am down five pounds!</p>

Your bad habits can play a crucial role is your bad health. Kicking those habits can improve your health and your longevity.</p>
<p>One of the worse habits that people have is smoking. It is a nasty habit that plays a huge role in the decline of your health. Smokers say that they can not <a href="http://beatingsmoking.com/" target="_blank">quit smoking</a> because they will gain weight. This is only true if you replace smoking with eating. This is caused because you feel like you need a replacement and food starts to taste better as the effects of smoking leave your taste buds. One way to curb those desires to eat is to add a good fun exercise program to your life. The effects of exercise curbs your appetite while improving your overall mood. Smoking has no benefits, kick the habit now!</p>
<p>Another bad habit is junk food. We are all guilty of this. Many programs like the older weight watchers failed because people would use their points for crap food and then always be hungry. They lost weight only to gain it back because they could not stick to the diet. An alternative is to attempt to eat pure natural foods most of the time and have the bad stuff you crave once in a while. Take it from me, the cravings start to die when youa re not eating the junk everyday.</p>
<p>A third habit which seems like good one is over exercising. I am often guilty of this short term. You need to exercise everyday but not to the point that you are wrecking your body. Too much is as bad or worse than no exercise. You need between 30 and 90 minutes a day of walking or cardio. Mix this with strength training three days a week and you have a good mix. If you feel your body telling you to slow down, take a day off. Only you know your body and you need to listen to that inner voice. Keep exercise fun and change often to avoid boredom. However, do not overdo it!</p>
<p>I could list bad habits all day but I think the point is made. Your bad habits have more to do with your health than anything. Weed out those bad habits and your heath will improve and you may live a much happier drug free life.</p>

The one topic men shy away or better yet run away from is problems with their manhood. Surprisingly, some form of male sexual problems happen to almost every man at some point in their life.</p>
<p>These problems can be caused by stress, obesity, and other external factors. More often than not, the problems are temporarily but they cause the man to feel less of a man. Way too often, men either try to hide it or heads to the doctor under false pretense. I have nothing against doctors but lets face it, there job is to write prescriptions. Most of the time, you see the actual doctor for a few minutes. Sometimes you do not even get past a nurse practitioner. They listen to your embarrassing mumble and  they write you a prescription for  medication that if you understood the side effects you would not even dare take. You are just so happy to be done you don&#8217;t even question it.</p>
<p>The problem is, when one problem is cured or suppressed, it causes another from the side effect. What is the answer? Do some research and see what other options there are. As I said earlier, most male problems are temporary. There are many ancient herbal remedies that offer no side effects. These include Horny Goat Weed, Maca Root, Ginkgo, and more. The problem is, my feet have been burning and becoming sore so I thought maybe my shoes were not enough cushion. I went to the shoe store to buy a new pair and I could not find a pair with much more cushion.</p>
<p>I was a little frustrated and decided I was going to get the memory foam inserts to add to my new shoes. I asked the lady at the counter if the addition would add a lot of tightness to the shoes. She said they would. We talked a couple of minutes and I told her  about my problem and she asked what kind of socks I wear. Weird question but I have always wore fruit of the loam and loved the feel of the cotton. She told me to go buy a pair of sports socks and she thinks that might fix it. I thought that sounded crazy but I went over to the spots store and looked and there they were and quite expensive. I am cheap and do not like paying a lot for anything. Luckily I decided to check Burlington Coat Factory. They were just a couple dollars more than my normal socks for six pairs so I bought them.</p>
<p>I have to tell you, it opened a new world for my tired sore feet. They wicked the moisture away. they are form fitting, and my feet stopped burning. Such a simple thing and it fixed a problem that I have always had when I walk a lot. Who would have though a pair of socks could change my life.</p>
<p>I guess it proved a point when exercising. There are many pieces of the puzzle and if you get all the pieces in order, exercising can be quite comfortable and enjoyable. Sports socks are the only socks I will wear from now on while I am exercising and as soon as I get back to the store, they will be the only socks I wear for everyday wear.</p>

<p>Your body is a well defined machine and has the ability to adjust to any situation. As your eating slows down, your body adjusts to the calorie deficit and slows down your metabolism. As this happens, you require less calories to maintain weight and the only way to lose weight is to eat less or burn more. I guess you are stuck right? Wrong, there is solution.</p>
<p>Your body is very smart but it can be tricked. Continuing for long periods of low calories causes problems but that can be adjusted. This is where a cheat meal comes into a mix. Once a week, you should go out and forget everything and have a meal of your favorite foods. This has twofold advantages. One, it tricks your body into thinking you have started eating more calories so it stops the metabolism slowdown. The second advantage is psychological. It allows you a little fun foods that you normally would not eat on a healthy diet. This gives you a little boost in the mood and keeps you focus on the rest of the week. </p>
<p>Cheating is not a way to go through life. However, when trying to lose weight, a once a week carefully planned cheat meal is a great way to win the battle and lose the weight. </p>
