Free Car Ads

Published by Tom under Websites Reviews

I am looking to buy a used car and I was scanning the local paper for a deal and could not find one. I decided check out the Internet to see what I could find.

I want to find a Honda in my price range and nearby so I can go pick it up. I ran across a site called Stumble Here which is an ad site that allows you to Post Free Local Classified Ads No relationship to Stumble Upon. This site allows you to list your ads for free and there are no fees for buyers or sellers. I always find that I can find better bargains from these ads because the seller does not tack ad fees into the price.

I searched through many of the Cars that were listed there to see what I could find at a price I could afford. I found quite a few Honda’s that were in a close range from my house. I will be checking those out later to see if they are what I am looking for.

I wanted to share links to this site because it is one of the few free ad sites that I really liked. It is easy to use and they even offer tips and ideas on why people run ads. Check them out and if you find something interesting, please feel free to share by leaving me a comment.

Released a New Blog

Published by Tom under Websites Reviews

I have been working on a new blog to do reviews of all kinds of stuff. I found a great domain name and was excited to get started with the blog. The new blog is YourReview.net and the motto is, if it exists, we review it.

I had trouble getting the blog going because I was looking for a header and logo and tried to deal with several designers and none of them came through. I had one submitted but it was so ugly I had no use for it. I am not great at doing headers but I decided to make one myself as I did with That Blozzz.

I hope all my readers will take a look at the new blog and if you have a product, service, or website that you would like to review, please send me a message through the contact form on the about page on the new blog.

Together, I am hoping we can make another successful blog.

SonicShack.com: Personalized T Shirts

Published by Tom under Product Reviews, Websites Reviews

The following is a sponsered review of an online business.

I was asked to check out and do a review of Sonic Shack.com. They offer several clothing products that can be created with the customers own design or one of the designs offered by their gallery. They are most popular for their personalized t shirts. These t shirts come in several colors and can include both a design and text words.

I checked out this site and was impressed in the easy to use website. I tried out the designer interface to design my own t shirt. There were several categories of popular themes with designs to suit just about any need. All this can be placed on the t shirt design and color of your choice along with any text you which to include. This is all done by their state of the art digital printing that creates a beautiful full colored finished product.

The personalized t shirts can also be created with a design you have and upload to the Sonic Shack website. The prices are quite reasonable and you can order just one if that is all you want. However, the prices are discounted as you increase the quantity of your order.

I was impressed with this website the moment I opened the site. The layout of the site is a kind of retro look and feel and it is easy to find exactly what you need without filtering through a bunch of junk commonly found on many ecommerce sites. They accept Paypal so that it is easy and secure to purchase from them. Sonic Shack also offers to do everything possible to resolve any problems you have with your order.

When doing reviews, I normally find something that annoys me with a website or product. That is not the case with Sonic Shack. They offer a quality website with great prices. I highly recommend checking out their website if you are looking for personalized t shirts.

Ticket Broker Ripoffs: Exclusive Tickets.com

Published by Tom under Ramblings, Websites Reviews

The play Wicked is coming playing in Rochester, NY and my wife and I really wanted to go. My mother in law bought us a gift certificate at the website Exclusive Tickets.com for $150. My wife ordered our tickets about 10 months ago from this site and they cost her $270 with fees. We just got our tickets for June 7th on the mail and they are the worse seats in the balcony and the ticket price on the ticket was $40.50 each.

This site charged over three times the value for what was suppose to be the best seating. They offer no refunds and if the show is canceled, they will refund face value even though they charged three times as much. My wife failed to read the fine print and it is partly her fault for not checking better. However, this company is ripping people off legally.

I highly recommend that people avoid these kinds of sites and only buy your tickets from reputable sites like Ticket Masters. The worse thing is, I found center front stage tickets on eBay for $120. Of course, my wife already bought these tickets so we are stuck with them.

This is just a warning that you should avoid companies like Exclusive Tickets.com and be careful when buying anything like this off the Internet. Research is key!

Anybody else been ripped off by this company?

Cheap Hotels Website

Published by Tom under Websites Reviews

The following is a sponsored review for a hotel booking website.

I was asked to review Destinia and decided to check it out as I am all about saving money. The first thing I looked at was the look and feel of the website. I always am interested in how easy a website is to use. The site was well set up and offers a cool search engine to search for cheap hotels. I decided to check out some of the options in this search engine.

I searched a few major cities of the world and discovered that they do offer a variety of price ranges for hotels around the world. Since I always wanted to visit London, I did a search of London Hotels. While searching, the picture across the screen is a woman walking with a suitcase and it keeps moving. I liked this feature as it was not as many other hotel sites. The results took about three minutes and it came back with eight pages of hotels in the London area. Each listing gave details for the hotel and the price for the set length of stay and the per night charge. They truly have a nice database of hotels.

Since Destinia is a Spanish owned travel agency, all prices reflected are in Euros. I would like to have seen a conversion calculator for other currencies but that is easy to find elsewhere. The prices seem to be very reasonable and they also offer a guarantee that if you find a cheaper price with in 24 hours of your conformation, they will refund the difference. You can not beat that for a deal.

Overall, the site was well designed and it was easy to navigate. The prices seem reasonable for the European market. They offer other features on their site such as travel guides, airline tickets, apartments, and more.

One of the complaints I have is that there are times that you click a link and try to go back to the homepage and you end up on a page with a different language. This is easily fixed by clicking on the symbol of your country. The only other complaint is what I mentioned earlier that I wish that the fees were shown in all different currencies. Besides that, I recommend Destinia as one of the better websites I have found to find a great deal on Cheap Hotels.

Student Credit Cards

Published by Tom under Websites Reviews

The following is a Sponsored review of a Credit Card Resource website:

When looking into Student Credit Cards.com, my first thought was this is just a typical credit card site trying to push credit onto college students. However, in fairness, I always try to look at all aspects before making any judgment on a website.

The site was very nicely laid out with a very pleasing look about it. The cute girl in the header always gets the readers attention. I wanted to know the meat of the site, what sets this apart from other credit card sites.

I was pleased to find out that they have a strong focus on the responsibility of getting a school credit card. Their website clearly lays out the student’s rights and responsibilities with having a credit card. They go further by explaining how APR works and how to decide which card best fits your need.

Many students find the new found freedom of college and jump into credit without knowing the facts. This website does a wonderful job of laying out everything involved in getting a school credit card.  From my standpoint, if the student fails to read all the information provided, the blame shall lay on them for credit problems.

Though this site was set up to get new credit card holders, they do a nice job of explaining the risk and rewards. They also offer a very nice selection of cards that could meet the needs of the student looking for credit cards. It is like a whole credit card bundle all packaged in an easy to navigate website.

If you are a student looking for your first credit card, I recommend checking out http://www.studentcreditcards.com as one of your first stops in the search. By reading the information they provide and looking over the various offers, you should be able to find the right card for your situation and be on your way to a great credit future.

Fab Forex.com Review

I have always been quite interested in the Foreign Exchange Market and how people make money from trading currency. That is why I was a bit excited to do this sponsored review of a Forex website. Prior to checking out the website, I knew almost nothing about online Forex currency trading and this was supposed to be an informational site.

The first thing I noticed when I went to the Fab Forex site was that there were a lot of articles. This is an informational site and though the articles are not written by the website owner, he does credit the articles to the proper author. There are articles about all aspects of Forex trading including from the basics all the way up to more advanced levels.

Trading currency is not for the weak at heart and it is risky. However, as I found out on this website, the rewards are worth the risk if you can afford the risk. I read through some of the articles on this site and they are well written with quality information to help you understand the process of Forex.

The articles range from how to make money to how to spot scams. The one article I liked the most was a guide of sort to online currency trading. It gave a wonderful description on how the market works and some details on how to make money with Forex. There are even a few articles about the stock market and day trading.

This website is a collection of articles from all over the Internet and placed in one neat organized place. There are many off topic articles mixed in so when you use their search engine, you may end up with stuff you do not want. However, it was very easy to find the information I needed to learn about Forex.

As with any investment, the key is to do your research. If you are looking for a new investment opportunity and want more information, this website will be a great help. The site is not trying to sell you anything, it is just a no nonsense collection of information that is provided free of charge. I have provided the links for you to decide for yourself.

As for me, the site achieved what I wanted it to. It educated me. I now have a good overall understanding on the Foreign Exchange Market. I think if I decide to enter this market, I am well informed on risk and rewards. I also know what to look for in potential scams and they even had a currency converter to keep check of the rates. What more can you ask from a free website?

Spock: People Search

Published by Tom under Websites Reviews

I was very interested in the doing this sponsored review because it involved an interesting idea. It is a search engine that you sign up for and can search for people and information that is stored in all one place.

Spock- the best for people search is a search engine a bit similar to Google but with a little different twist. The people information is a little better organized so that it is easier to find the information. The information comes out with the person listed and if a picture is available, that is displayed next to the name with all other information.

I tried out Spock- the best for people search typing in and searching for Dan Rather.

The result was tons of information about Dan Rather of CBS news fame. This includes results from many of his interviews and other major references to him on the Internet.

Spock- the best for people search is a more interactive search engine than most and you can even claim yourself from the search results. If you sign up for an account, you can claim yourself, correct false information, save people searches, and add my people of people who have connections to you.

I found this search engine interesting and very easy to find out all there is to find on certain people all in one place. It is much harder for less famous people because there are many people who share the same name. If the person is a member of Spock, it seems much easier to find out about that person.

One thing that I did not care for was the fact that to claim yourself, you have to enter your password and log-in to wherever the site is that your information is stored. For example, if your information is on MySpace and you want to claim that, you have to put your MySpace log-in and password into Spock in order to claim that information. Though the website claims it is safe, I am not that trusting.

Overall, the search engine is very fun to use and a great way to search for people and not just websites that list that person’s name. It is easy to use and you can use it without signing up for an account. if you choice to sign up for an account, there are tons of interesting features that allow you to create an active account and claim yourself and show connections to important people in your life. To me, this site seems like a search engine combined with a touch of MySpace. It is well worth checking out and like I spent a couple of hours just playing around searching for people. If you are searching for information on someone or looking for a long lost friend, check this site out!

Admissions Essay Service.

Published by Tom under Websites Reviews

The following is a sponsored review of a academic service:

When I was first asked to review a admissions essay service, I was not sure how I felt about such a service. Is it wrong to hire someone to help with such an essay?

I went to the website to see what it is they offered and if it was legit. Admission Essays are the essays written by potential student who are applying for a certain college. The first thing that I was impressed with when I visited the Admission Essays website was that they have been in business since 1996. The longevity of a company speaks volumes since it show that it is not just a fly by night company.

I thought, prior to checking out the site, that they wrote the essays for you. I was not impressed with this because it is a form of plagiarism. This was not the case with this company. They write a model essay based on all the student’s information. They provide the model to guide the student in writing the best essay based on the standards required by many major universities. This is done from scratch and designed around the personal information of their client.

The company will write the model essay based on the type of school the student is applying to. If the student already has an essay written, they also offer a service that will critique, analyze, and revise the essay and personal statement before the final copy is sent to the potential schools.

As I stated previously, I was a bit apprehensive prior to checking out this website. However, a student trying to get into a major school faces many challenges and stress. Writing just the right Admission Essay is one of the most important factors in determining rather the student will be accepted. I believe this company has provided a legit honest service to aid the student and their family in securing the best opportunity for the student.

The company has been in business many years and the staff is made up of highly educated people. I recommend that if you or your child are trying to get in to just the right university, you check out the www.admissionsessays.com to get the help needed to produce the best Admission essays possible.
