Thoughts.Com Review

Published by Tom under Websites Reviews

The following is a sponsored review of a free blog site.

I recently checked out this site called Thoughts.com. It is a site that offers free blogs for personal use. It is kind of a cross between blogging and MySpace. They offer you a free unlimited blog for personal blogging. You can share your thoughts, tell jokes, upload photos and videos, and more.

With the easy to Create Blog, you can share all your thoughts with your friends or with the whole world. The free blog comes with your own URL in this form http://www.thoughts.com/username/blog. You can share this address with people throughout the Internet. You may not use the blog for promoting your websites or any business. It is just for personal use only.

Besides offering the free blog, Thoughts.com offers a community feeling with a forum and the ability to make friends. You can also have your posts, pictures, and videos rated and commented on and you can do the same for other bloggers. Unlike the tradition blogging methods, you have instant access to traffic from other members. You can also bookmark your favorite bloggers on your own blog.

There things I like about this free blog site. It is easy to use. Anyone who has never had a blog or website can now get a working blog with in minutes and be able to share their stuff with whoever they want. There are three levels of settings for your posts and photos. You can set it for private and only you can view it, set it for only friends and family, or set it for public for all to see.

There are many members and some very interesting blogs to read. The forums let you share your ideas and learn more from other members. It really does set up a nice community atmosphere. They also offer contests for members who refer others and a chance to win a free Vacation.

The blog space and bandwidth is unlimited and the site site allows you to upload as much as you want of photos, videos, and podcasts. For anyone who pays for hosting, you know how important it can be to have unlimited space.

There are some things I do not like about Thoughts.com. First, I do not like the URL format. I would prefer blog.thoughts.com because it would be easier to promote the blog on places such as directories.

I also do not like the fact that the terms forbid adult material but some of the top blogs in the popular blogs are sex story blogs. If they have strict terms to protect minors, they should enforce those terms. I am the first one to protect freedom of speech but if the terms forbid, it should not be allowed.

I do not like the fact that you can not promote your other sites or your business. This is a big deal in the world of blogging when you have more than one site. Often times, like with this blog, bloggers try to earn a little money. With Thoughts.com, you are not allowed to do any commercial activity.

The site is very basic and lacks the ability to add your own designs. However, it is free and very user friendly. If you are new to blogging or just want a place to post stuff to share stuff with friends and family, this is a great site for that purpose. You can get started quickly and send the address to your family to share pictures of the kids, recent family news, or a current video.

The site is also great for people who just want to connect with others and share a few laughs or share a sad moment with others who may be going through the same thing. If they enforced the adult content rule, I would also say this is a great place for kids to express themselves and share with their friends in a safe environment.

If you are an advanced blogger or looking to do more advanced stuff, Thought.com may not be for you. However, as far as free blog sites go, this was one of the easiest I have seen. If you are truly looking to just share your thoughts, this would be a great start in the blogging world. It is free, you have nothing to lose and you may have loads of fun. Why not try out the site for yourself and see what it has to offer?

Web Hosting Pal Review

Published by Tom under Websites Reviews

As a webmaster, you need to find the right hosting to fit your needs that is fairly priced and offers reliability. Doing a paid review for Web Hosting Pal is quite easy considering they offer a service much needed by all webmasters.

When fist visiting theĀ  Web Hosting Pal site, the first thing you see is a beginners guide to web hosting. It looked like some good information so I clicked on the links. I was shocked to find that the guide was only a list of questions with no answers to the questions. Needless to say, the first impression was a disappointment.

I did look further into the Web Hosting Pal website and I was pleased to find a top 10 list of web hosting providers. The reviews are well laid out with all the information needed to make an informed decision on whom to choice for web hosting. My problem here was the list states that the list was last updated October 2005. On the home page, Blue Host is listed as the number one of the top 10 list. However, when you go to the top 10 list, Blue Host is not even listed. This makes me wonder which list is the most current.

Another problem that I found was that the number four web hosting company on the top 10 list is iPowerWeb and on the bottom of the web page, they have a link to several complaints about this company. Should this not be removed from the list?

The concept of Web Hosting Pal is great. They do offer a wonderful review of the web hosting companies. However, the site is unfinished and seems to be very outdated. The beginners guide would be great but if you follow the link on the top of the page, it takes you to a video game. I would love to see this site updated and the problems fixed. If the problems were fixed, I would highly recommend this site as one of the better web hosting review sites I have seen on the Internet.
