Obama Is Not The Messiah
I have been laughing my ass off since the Presidential Election at all the blogs that are posting about Obama. I have seen some of people who have broken down in tears that finally someone has come to save the world. Guess what! No politician is going to save you. He is not going to put money in your pocket. He is not going to lower your taxes. Most of all, he is not going to change the entire workings of the United States Government.
Let’s first look at his first two major choices. His first major pick was Joe Biden for his VP. This man has been a U.S Senator since 1972. Damn, I was only six back then. Wow, talk about a Washington outsider. He only has been at it for 26 years. I am sure that Obama’s next big choice was going with his “change philosophy.”
His second choice was for White House Chief of Staff. He chose Rahm Emanuel. OK, now we are getting to the nitty gritty, he is a Washington outsider right? OK, he has only been in Congress since 2003. I guess that could be considered an outsider. Oh wait, he started his career helping Paul Simon get elected in 1984. Oh let us not forget, he also served as a senior advisor to the Clinton administration. These two sure do not look like change to me.
I have to be honest, I did not vote for Obama and still do not think that his lack of experience and his charm is what this country needs right now. I also do not believe or think that the big change is coming. His socialist ideas from the campaign is not much different from the extreme liberal ideas of past Democrats. His plans to spend lots of money to buy our way out of a economic slump will fail much like it did for George Bush.
His plan to raise taxes on the rich will trickle down. If he succeeds in taxing those making over $250,000, this will result in job losses, lower wages for those in lower income brackets , and higher consumer prices. His plan to bail out everyone will result in a negative balance on the tax payers that has been unheard of in history. Trust me, Bush did a great job so far. Do you really deep down believe he will save us all?
Listen, it is your job to look out for you and your family. It should not be the role of the Unites States Government to bail out a mess you got into. It is also not their role to send billions to banks and other businesses to do with as they please. The American People have survived well for many years because they were tough and took the initiative to do what it took to better them self. Now that is being punished because they make too much.
I wish Obama well and I hope he can help America in the next four years. However, I have my doubt about much change. The only change I see is the skin color of the President of the United States. Sorry to disappoint you but Barrack Obama is not the anointed Messiah you have all hoped for.

I agree very much with your post. One man cannot change the workings of our government any more than George Bush caused all the problems we’re now having. It was a group effort by our 535 elected officials along with greed from the banking industry and the people who bought homes they knew they couldn’t afford. And I don’t see Obama’s ideas doing anything except costing us more money. I found it almost humorous to see Jennifer Grandholm from Michigan standing behind him as a recent appointee, since she has made so many bad decisions for the state of Michigan and it is suffering under her leadership. Everyone is feeling so good right now, and truly I hope things improve for us under Obama, but I really don’t see it happening. Time will tell.
Amen.
Well said Chris! I am glad to see I am not the only one who is Bamanized. The point about Bush is right on the number too. Many fail to remember that the last two years, his party was not in control of Congress, the Democrats were. I wish everyone who voted for the bail out was voted out but the American people can not see what they are doing.
Thanks for the comment.
@Pen, that sums it up. LOL
I don’t think he’s the savior, but I’m afraid that he might think he’s the savior. That whole bit with From The Office of The President Elect was a little over the top.
Thank you for this post!
so far this is the first post I’ve read that knows the reality and thr truth. Job well done here. Amen to what is written above.
Finally! I`ve seen someone posting here in different point of view. I am so sicking tired reading most of the bloggers posting about Obama rejoicing him like his some kind of God. I agree with you 100 % President never put money on our pocket but our own hard work. My husband and I doesnt believe in govt. welfare, we work hard to earn money to provide our daily expenses.
@ Descartes That could be a real problem for him and those around him. Too much hype and not enough reality.
Thanks Katy!
@ Bisdak, thanks, I am glad to see there are some who are not hooked in!
@ Sweetiepie, what, you mean actually take care of yourself? What is wrong with you? Maybe you have a case of being a true Patriot and a true American with the heart of a pioneer. This country was built off the back of hard work and an honest days pay. It was not based off passing the money to those who will not work.
I do not believe we should ignore those who really need help. But I do believe we should help those who are too lazy to help themselves.
Thanks for all the comments so far. This is good stuff coming from good people!
My prediction is that in six months or so, those who voted for Obama will regret their vote. And it will have nothing to do with racism. More like people will really get a glimpse of the true man.
Lea, it is sad that you have to state “it is not racism.” This is one of the big problems. You can not criticize the man without being called a racist.
In fact, late night comedians are already saying they will not tell jokes about him. They claim because they do not know enough about him. I say they are scared of back lash.
This is sad considering politicians have always been joked about and people have always voiced their opinions one way or the other. I guess his race is a huge part of why he became the media’s anointed one.
As for me, I do not care if he is white, black, or even green. I care about what he does for this great nation. Fail or succeed, I am going to call it like it is, I hope you will continue to also.
Thanks for the comment!
No one in government is really going to do anything that will change the world without the participation of THE PEOPLE.
Barack Obama represents hope for people. Which may make them DO SOMETHING instead of sitting and complaining about what’s wrong in the country.
The vote was about change. We didn’t like the way the country is headed, so we voted for change.
Now we feel like change is coming, that’s all.
Great post. Well said.
@ Diana, thanks very much!
@ Angelika…what change is that. Please explain what makes you think he changing things. His plans are for more Government, more welfare, and buy our way out of the economic mess with money we do not have. Explain where the change is.
He represents nothing but some charmer that people fell for as the Messiah. He immediately surrounded himself with Washington insiders and has plans to spend more money. Sound familiar?
George Bush pushed through two stimulus packages that put money in our hands while taking it out double in local and state tax increases. Obama is insisting on another one right away and if the Lame Duck Congress can’t get it done, he will in his first days in office.
Let me also remind you that he was on board with the biggest bail out blank check in the history of the United States. It worked, the Stock Market is still dropping.
He now wishes to extend that to bail out the auto industry. Is he knocking on your door to bail you out when you mismanage your household?
Government can not buy their way out of this mess with your child’s future income. It does not work that way.
As far as People participation, there was an overwhelming majority against the bail out (for good reason ) and the Government officials snubbed us all and voted for it. Now you and many like you want a man who wants more Government involvement and control of our lives?
I say hell no, I will not go that way without a fight and kicking and screaming all the way. The Government should be for the people by the people not in control of the people. Let the sheep be herded, I prefer to still be a man!
I guess we will just have to wait and see. The same goes for the late night comedians. The comment made about them not making jokes about Obama beacuse of his race is the funniest thing I have heard in a while.
I don’t understand anything in the politic but I know that nothing change!
