I’ve never had a pet and I doubt I ever will so I don’t have anything to claim as a favorite.
Since I have 5 dogs, 2 rabbits and a cat, it’s rather difficult to choose just one favorite pet but if push came to shove I’d have to choose my cat because I’ve had her for 10 years. I got her when she was eight weeks old and she’s been my friend and constant companion ever since.

I have probably had over 100 pets in my lifetime - dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, mice, guinea pigs, birds, fish, turtles, even snails and a crayfish.
As for favorites, it’s really hard to say. Each animal is unique in his/her own way, and I was close to a lot of them (obviously not the fish), but the mammals. 5 come to mind for the closest relationships though.
A cat we had for 16 years who practically raised me and my sister. He was the stable, almost adult figure of our lives after our mother passed away.
My horse that my stepfather gave me a few months after my mother passed away; he was a grumpy and difficult horse but I was crazy about him and had a lot of good times riding him.
A really smart dog we had for 4 years that could learn new words, tasks and tricks in less than 20 minutes.
And our 2 dogs now. My sister and I work at home so we’re together 24/7 and therefore really close. We never go anywhere without them and they fill the house with energy and happiness.
