To spice things up a bit, I am adding a final prize on Sunday for all who enter the daily contest. For every entry you make during the Question of the Day, you will get one entry into the weekly contest for 500 Entrecard Credits. If you enter every day, that will be seven entries in the drawing. Daily winners will be included in the drawing.
That is a total of at least 850 Entrecard Credits leading up to the big Blog Contest!
If I had $1,000,000, I would:
- Pay off the mortgage on the house and do some renovations
- Buy a safer car
- Put a good amount in high yield savings and/or investments
- Set up a refuge for homeless animals
- Buy some books!
- Hire a masseuse to get the kinks out of my shoulders from sitting at a computer all day!
- Buy a cottage in Surrey, like the one in movie The Holiday. (May sell the house)
OK, all this sounds so good now I’ve got to get my hands on $1,000,000.
I’ll ignore the sensible options and go for travelling to all the countries in my postcard collection. Just since posting some of the cards on my blog, I realise how little of the world I have seen. I’d love to go to some of these places and be able to afford to spend enough time in each to get to know the place properly.

I would do just about everything from both of your answers.
I would pay off all of our debt and the house and make sure my kids college expenses were completely taken care of. I’d set up a nest egg for ourselves and our kids. Then I’d do all the fixing up/repairs that need doing in our house. We’d go on a cruise and WDW and then we’d invest the rest!
If I had a million dollars, I’d invest some, build the much needed addition on my house, make sure my son’s complete education was taken care of (he’s only 9 months old right now so there is still lots of educating to be done), and take a trip up to Canada to visit friends and my 83 year old grand aunt.

the first thing i would do if i won a million would be to give my sister the 250,000 that she needs for a liver transplant. then i would get all of my outstanding debts paid off and make sure my 2 kids each had a decent vehicle and a nice, not extravagant, place to live. Then I would move to be with my husband, and take it from there.
